Interior Design Styles are incomplete without colors. Colors play a vital role in creating space ambiance. Color is an element of interior design having a science of its own. It can create mood, ambiance, or change the perception of a room-scale. It can trigger emotions and memories while effecting human psychology. In addition, color can show a certain volume or constructive detail, or visually mimic certain aspects of space.
Interior Design Styles are although evolving daily the role of colors stays the same as before. A box room with just neutral walls, floors, and ceiling looks so boring. Colors help to create a visual effect when applied on different surfaces.
For example, a darker shade on the ceiling generates a sense of a lower ceiling. Likewise, if only some central portion of the wall is painted it generates a feeling of spatial shortening even though space might be big.
Painting the lateral walls only, create a feeling of narrowing space. Or, if one wants to create a feeling of openness in the space then the central wall of the room and the ceiling are painted in the same color.
